"Architectural Photographers Hang Together" is a weeklong show of photographs by the best of DC's architectural photographers. These 11 artists, commissioned by the area's leading architects and designers to document their buildings, translate their designs into an art form itself. This exhibition showcases their disciplined approach to photography and reveals their technical skills honed by years of experience with large format cameras. We discover through these photographs that next to the architecture itself, the subject is the quality of the light hitting a façade and the harmonious arrangement of geometric forms. We learn that the art of editing is paramount. Left out of the frame, are imperfections and construction flaws, allowing the architect's vision to be expressed most honestly. Presented here are stunning photographs of some of the great buildings of our time including Gehry's Guggenheim Bilbao, Calatrava's Museum of Science & Technology, Valencia and Travis Price's Rock Creek Tree House here in Washington DC.
